Southern Maryland National Heritage Area will be hosting Southern Maryland 250: Liberty and Legacy right here at the park next week on June 22, and we’re delighted to provide the historic setting for this regional gathering. The day will feature:

• A keynote address by Senator Chris Van Hollen

• The dedication of a Maryland Liberty Tree

• Exhibitor Lane with local heritage, cultural, and conservation partners

• Live musical performances

Thomas Stone National Historic Site is honored to offer a place where the community can reflect on Southern Maryland’s shared past and consider its future during America’s 250th anniversary. We look forward to welcoming you to the grounds where Thomas Stone—a signer of the Declaration of Independence—once lived and shaped his own legacy.

Park gates open at 9 a.m. Program begins at 10 a.m.
