Join a ranger for a special presentation at the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center’s “Museum of the Barrens” in Glasgow, KY.

Hear the history of the Bransford Summer Resort, owned, and operated by Matt and Zemmie Bransford during the 1920s-1930s. Discover the history of a hotel that was a gateway for African Americans to visit the great Mammoth Cave of Kentucky. Learn about the hardships the Bransfords endured as entrepreneurs as they navigated their way through Jim Crow laws and a changing homestead that would soon become a national park. It is a story of pride and resilience written within the landscape of South Central Kentucky.
