Civilian Conservation Corps at Shiloh Driving Tour

Shiloh National Military Park

Special Event
  • Feb 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
  • Free

Some of the unsung heroes of Shiloh National Military Park were the men who helped build and preserve the park in the 1930s. These former World War One veterans were known as the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC).

Please join park staff on Saturday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. as we give kick off this anniversary celebration with a special 2-hour guided tour of some of the CCC projects that are still in existence today and learn some of the history behind the CCC and the special company of men who called Shiloh their home. This will be the first of many events that we will offer this year designed to commemorate this unique resource on the park.

The program will begin at the Shiloh Visitors Center and will be a combination of driving and walking. The terrain is moderate, and the distances are short in duration. Please monitor the weather, and dress accordingly. Wear comfortable shoes that are designed for hiking and bring water and your imagination.
