Description

September is the month that most monarch butterflies will migrate through our region on their way to Mexico where they will spend the winter. Every fall as monarchs travel thousands of miles, their migration can be tracked and studied by tagging them. Learn why tagging is important and help us tag and release monarch butterflies before they make their long journey south. People of all ages are welcome to attend this free conservation program.

*The Monarch Watch Tagging Program is a citizen science project that was started to help scientists understand the Monarch butterfly’s fall migration.
