Description

Join a park ranger for a hike through the beautiful oak savanna of Indiana Dunes National Park's Miller Woods. Hikes will vary in length depending on the interest and abilities of visitors. This ranger-led hike starts at the Paul H. Douglas Center and continues through Miller Woods to the shore of Lake Michigan. This amazing hike goes through a globally rare black oak savanna and around towering sand dunes and interdunal wetlands. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and insect repellent.

The Paul H Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national park at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12.
