Night Sky Program

Let rangers introduce you to the night skies above Dinosaur! The evening includes a ranger talk followed by night sky viewing as weather permits. Meet at the plastic benches inside the closed loop at the south end of the Split Mountain Campground. No pets allowed.

To preseve everyone's darkness-adapted vision, please keep flashlights pointed at the ground. Dark-sky friendly red covers for flashlights will be provided. Parking for non-campers is available at the front of the camprgound.

Please Note: Programs may be canceled due to adverse weather, for visitor or employee safety, or because of staffing shortages caused by emergencies such as fire or medical conditions.

Fees

There is no additional fee for this activity. Ranger programs are covered by the $25 park entrance fee or by showing a valid America the Beautiful Pass at the Entrance Station.

Location

Park in the main lot at the front of the campground and walk to the back. Meet at the plastic benches inside the closed loop at the south end of the Split Mountain Campground.
