Special Event
The National Park Service Founders Day is observed on August 25th each year. It commemorates the founding of the National Park Service by Woodrow Wilson in 1916.
Join us at Steamtown National Historic Site as we observe Founders Day Thursday 10 AM to 4 PM. The Lackawanna caboose will be open for viewing. Visitors can create birthday cards and there will be coloring sheets of a few locomotives. Park Rangers and volunteers will talk about some of the paint schemes used by different railroads.
