Description
In Honor of Transgender Day of Rememberance
Join the New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! presentation of Call Her Ganda, a documentary about Jennifer Laude, a Filipina trans woman, who was brutally murdered by a U.S. marine from New Bedford, MA. The resulting court case calls for an examination of transphobia and the post-colonial tensions between the Philippines and the U.S. This screening and facilitated discussion will take place on November 20th, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
