Descendant's Day

Fort Stanwix National Monument

Special Event
  • May 27, 2024 at 9:30 AM
  • Free

Are you or someone interested in geneology or family histories, descended from someone who lived during colonial times, or curious if you might be descended from them? Then this is the event for you!

Join us for the first ever Fort Stanwix National Monument Descendant's Day event! Throughout the day, you can explore the muster records and biographies of soldiers who served at the fort, learn how the park researches these stories and how you can help, or leave a story or name of someone you'd like to know more about. For kids of all ages: try on some 18th Century clothing and take a picture, make a family crest, or become a Junior Ranger.

There will also be a special "Family Reunion" in which you can connect with others who may share your family history.
