From the South Entrance Station, continue following the road you are on for 5 miles, and it will lead you to the Visitor Center. Just before the parking areas, the road curves to the left. You can park your vehicle in one of four parking areas and find your way to the Visitor Center, in the center of the open plaza where restroom buildings, the park store, and the bicycle rental are also located. Description

Astronomy Night - Full Moon Rise over Grand Canyon

Watch the Sun set in the west at 7:49 pm, then turn to the east and watch the Full Moon rise over the Canyon at 8:09 pm! Rangers will be out at Mather Point with telescopes to point at the Moon and other early evening objects.

Time: 7:30 pm (allow 1 hour)

Location: South Rim - Park in one of the Visitor Center parking lots. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk along a paved path to Mather Point.
