Fort Moultrie will be fee-free on Saturday, April 15th ONLY. Normal fees will apply at Fort Moultrie in Sunday, April 16th. To visit fort Sumter, visitors must purchase a ticket from the authorized ferry boat concessionaire, Fort Sumter Tours. FORT MOULTRIE SATURDAY - Soldiers' Camp open from 10am - 4pm. Ranger talks and musket demonstrations will take place throughout the day between 11:00 am and 3:30 pm. FORT SUMTER SATURDAY - Living Historians will be present at the battle site throughout the day interpreting the events which occurred in Charleston Harbor. Tickets and information on visiting the island are available at www.fortsumtertours.com. FORT MOULTRIE SUNDAY - Ranger talk at 11:00 am. Musket and drill demonstration at 11:30 am.


Description

Fort Sumter & Fort Moultrie National Historical Park will observe the 162nd anniversary of the Civil War with special programs at Forts Sumter and Moultrie.

Living Historians representing officers, soldiers, and civilians from 1861 will provide visitors with insights into the tension filled days that preceded the beginning of the war.
