Description

Every "Black Powder", Valley Forge National Historical Park and our partners present various interpretive programs that will get you outside and exploring your national park. Take a look at some of the different programming offerings below! 

Schedule of Programs

Ranger Led Walks

  • 10:50 am, 2:50 pm
  • Walks depart from Visitor Center (Tour Stop #1)
  • This free, 40 minute, ranger-guided walk (1/4 mile) explores the Valley Forge winter encampment and its impact on the American Revolution.

Musket Demonstrations and Firings

  • 11:05 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3:05 pm, 3:30 pm
  • Programs are located at Muhlenberg Brigade Huts (Tour Stop #2)
  • Meet a Continental soldier and experience a day in the life at the Valley Forge encampment, includes historic weapons demonstrations (weather and staff permitting).

Trolley Tours

  • 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm
  • Trolley Tours depart from Visitor Center (Tour Stop #1)
  • Enjoy a 90-minute guided tour of Valley Forge. Tours depart from the front of the Visitor Center and make extended stops at the Muhlenberg Brigade Huts and Washington's Headquarters. Trolley Tours are ADA accessible (Accessibility information). Call The Encampment Store at 610-783-1074 for additional tour information and to reserve tickets.

Book Signing with Author Bob Drury

  • Signings from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, 30 minute presentations at 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm
  • Signings and presentations located at the Visitor Center (Tour Stop #1)
  • Join author and historian Bob Drury for a conversation about Valley Forge! Mr. Drury is the co-author of the recently published Valley Forge, and will be signing books in The Encampment Store gift shop from 11 am – 2 pm with 30-minute presentations at 12 & 1 pm in the Visitor Center’s museum gallery. Washington's Headquarters Open

  • 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Headquarters is located at Tour Stop #5
  • Tour the home of General Washington and his staff during the encampment. Explore the Train Station museum and exhibits, located adjacent to Washington's Headquarters.
