Description
Join National Park Service Naturalist Jerry Hightower and the volunteer staff for an opportunity to explore nature journaling! Nature journaling is a gateway to improving your observational skills, your enjoyment outdoors, and creates a wonderful record of your adventures in nature. Discover that poetry, recording, and sketching can be important components of nature journaling. We will offer outdoor exercises in observation and recording in your journal that will improve your abilities and your journaling skills. Join us to expand your abilities and just have fun recording your time in nature!
This event is for adults. There is youth nature journaling from 10 am - 12 pm.
Location: Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center, 8615 Barnwell Road, Johns Creek, Georgia, 30022. These workshop sessions will be held on the upper deck of the education center and in the meadow and forest.
Parking is limited and carpooling is highly encouraged.
Facilities: Located in the Center’s Lodge.
Difficulty: Easy level walking
Bring: Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a muddy forest trail. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature and activity level. Bring water and you might include snacks and bug spray. You are also welcome to bring your own marshmallows to roast. We have roasting forks that you may use.
