Free. A food truck will be located outside the Fort Pulaski National Monument Visitor Center during this event, and visitors will be able to purchase food and drinks for a fee.

Programs and performances will take place inside Fort Pulaski, at the Fort Pulaski National Monument Visitor Center, and at the Lazaretto Creek Fishing Pier located on McQueen's Island. A free shuttle will run between the Visitor Center and the Lazaretto Fishing Pier during the afternoon. Fort Pulaski National Monument will be free for entry from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. March Haynes Community Day programs and performances will start at 10:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM.


Description

Fort Pulaski National Monument continues to celebrate its 100-year anniversary as a National Park Service site on March 2, 2024 with March Haynes Community Day, a day of special programming connecting Fort Pulaski to Savannah's rich African American history.

Special programs for March Haynes Community Day will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. This free event will feature guided tours, remembrance ceremonies, speaker presentations, youth art displays, and a special performance by the First African Baptist Church’s Children’s Choir.
