Description
Get outdoors this winter and join us at the Zimmerman Center for some Winter River Ranger Hour! The theme for this hour is wind:
March brings wind to our river. Learn about the power of wind and how to harness it!
River Ranger Hour programs will explore river themes for children ages 5 and up. The Zimmerman Center for Heritage is Pennsylvania’s Visitor Contact Station for the Captain John Smith National Historic Trail. For some sessions we will be joined by a National Park Service Ranger and participants can collect limited edition CAJO National Park Trading Cards!
Meet at our brand new outdoor education space at the trailhead of the Native Lands Trail from our parking lot. Most sessions will have a campfire for warmth, but dress to explore and learn outdoors! This program is best for families and for children to participate with their caretakers. Large groups, please call to make accommodations.
Due to the smaller size of the Zimmerman Center and available parking, registration is required. $3.00 per child.
Program may be canceled in the event of snow or poor weather conditions. Refunds will be provided.
Safety Protocols and Participation Requirements
- Properly fitting face masks or coverings are required for all individuals ages 3+ during group programs both indoors and outdoors at both of our visitor centers.
River Rangers is an outdoor program and will not be held inside the Zimmerman Center. Please dress for the weather!
