Wilderness Visitor Center: Take William Floyd Parkway (Route 46) to Smith Point County Park for access to the Wilderness Visitor Center. Parking is available in the parking lot just east of the Wilderness Visitor Center, a small hexagonal building to your right as you are headed south.

Description

Join forces today with the National Park Service and Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation to help clear Fire Island’s shore of unsightly and harmful marine debris. Learn about the sources of marine debris and the impact it has on marine life; document the trash collected to help inform ocean policy and ensure the future health of the marine ecosystem. Bring work gloves if possible.
