For adults living through the War for Independence, the period between 1770 and 1800 was filled with difficulty and uncertainty. For children "inheriting" the Revolution, the new country was filled with potential and endless contradictions. After years of conflict, the "young" country was on the cusp of another revolution at the war's end - the Industrial Revolution. Join Park Ranger Allison Horrocks to discover how ordinary people engaged with these major changes, from the start of the Revolutionary War to the beginnings of the American Industrial Revolution.

This program will be hosted at the Scituate Preservation Society Headquarters (706 Harford Pike, Scituate, Rhode Island) on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 7:00 PM.

This program is presented in partnership with the Town of Scituate and the Scituate Preservation Society.
