Program Schedule
10:00am—Hike from Hopewell Furnace to Hopewell Lake in French Creek State Park
11:00am—Kayak on Hopewell Lake with Rangers
12:00pm—Break for Lunch
12:30pm—Fishing on Hopewell Lake with Rangers
1:30pm—Hike Back to Hopewell Furnace

Participants must be 10 years and older; for children 10-18 years, parental supervision is required.
Requirements of this program include its participants to be able to:
- Hike from Hopewell Furnace to Hopewell Lake located in French Creek State Park and back again, @ 1 ½ miles total.
- Manage a 1-person kayak.
- Sign waiver of responsibility for paddling a 1-person kayak.
- Commit 4 hours for completion of the three program elements.
- Pennsylvania Fishing License – Ages 16 and older, available online at huntfish.pa.gov and many fishing retailers, not at either French Creek or Hopewell Furnace.
Fishing poles, bait, kayaks, paddles, and life jackets will be provided.
Please bring: a bagged lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, and appropriate footwear for hiking and kayaking.
