Did you know that the Sheriff's House Welcome Center once functioned as a jail? From 1857 to 1902, the building was part of a larger complex that housed prisoners as New Castle County's main correctional facility. Join us for one of our ranger talks to discover the intriguing story of the Sheriff's House and how it reflects the broader evolution of America's criminal justice system.

Talks will be held outside of the Sheriff’s House on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 10:30, 12:30, and 2:30. Talks will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather.
