Prairie Acadian Cultural Center - Quilt Documentation Project

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Special Event

  • Free

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center is teaming up with the Quilters' Guild of Acadiana for a special quilt documentation project.

Quilts have a deep history in Acadiana from Acadian brown cotton to weaving. They tell the story of our past and present. We're working to preserve and document our history through quilts. No matter how old or new, size, or condition, we want to document your quilt!

Bring in your quilt to the center. Quilt experts will be on-site to help fill out a form. The quilt will be photographed and then returned to you. The information and images will be shared with the State of Louisiana folklife program and the National Quilt Index.

Help us preserve our history and bring a quilt for documentation!
