Located in the Village HIstoric District, opposite El Tovar hotel, on the other side of the large circular driveway, Hopi House is a three-story stepped stone masonry structure with sandstone walls with parapets. Hopi House is adjacent to the Canyon Rim Trail, that runs alongside the north end of the building, overlooking the canyon landscape.

Description

Indigenous Peoples’ Day: Dance Performances - Along the Canyon Rim Trail by Hopi House - Outdoors 

Join us for a celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Grand Canyon National Park from October 12 to 14. This series of events promises to engage visitors and residents alike in meaningful discussions, cultural performances, and a deeper understanding of Indigenous heritage. 

Join us on Monday, October 14, with a series of dance performances along the Canyon Rim Trail in front of Hopi House. The day will begin with an opening prayer by Phyllis Kachinhongva (12:15 p.m.) followed by captivating dance performances by ShanDien LaRance, Hoop Dancer (12:30 p.m.) and the CBQ Apache Crown Dancers (1:30 pm)showcasing the rich traditions of Indigenous dance.

Later in the afternoon, the festivities will wrap up back at the Visitor Center Plaza with additional dance performances and a closing prayer, honoring the spirit of the day. 


The program is free of charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
