To access the AMK Ranch, turn west from Highway 89 onto the spur road towards Leeks Marina. In half a mile, turn right at the University of Wyoming sign and continue a mile up the road. Park in front of the Johnson Lodge and walk to the Berol Lodge.

The University of Wyoming Research Institute at AMK Ranch is a cooperative effort between the University of Wyoming and the National Park Service to promote research in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE). The UW-NPS Research Institute is one of only eight field stations in US National Parks and is the oldest such partnership.
