Description

Meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot for a ranger-led hike to the top of the beautiful and famous Mount Baldy, Indiana. The sunset over Lake Michigan and the surrounding area is spectacular. No reservation required.
 
Please note that the Mount Baldy parking lot and beach are open everyday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. The dune itself, however, is still closed for general public use. We strongly ask the public to respect and follow posted closure signs and stay out of roped-off areas. The dune is still closed for reasons of public safety and restoration efforts.
 
The Mount Baldy parking lot is located just off of U.S. Highway 12, west of Michigan City, Indiana. No reservations are required. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1882 or visit the park's website.
