"Arboretum" - 15 Bassoons in the Congaree
We encourage you to register for planning purposes
Members of the University of South Carolina Bassoon Studio and professionals from the Columbia region, along with several members of the UofSC flute studio, join forces in a performance Brad Balliet's "Arboretum," spaced along the boardwalk and trails of the Congaree National Park. The piece is comprised of simultaneously-performed solos, each based on a species of tree native to the park, that loosely cohere in surprising ways. The audience will be free to wander the trails and experience different facets of the work at their leisure.
The piece is 20 mins, and it will be performed twice in a row, with a 20-30 minute break in between. This performance is free of charge, and reservations are not required, but RSVPs are encouraged. This program is part of the park's Forest Wellness Program series.
