Description
James A. Garfield National Historic Site will host various online events to commemorate Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 15. There will be no onsite activities that day.
At 11 a.m., everyone is invited to enjoy a recorded presentation of a Park Ranger program: Lincoln and Garfield: Similarities and Differences. That program will be posted to the site’s You Tube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvq59gIwhkcWsveI7QR6iFA/.
The link will also be shared at 11 a.m. via Facebook and Twitter.
From 12 p.m.- 1 p.m., join the site’s staff on Twitter (@GarfieldNPS) for a live-tweet presidential trivia game. This is an adaptation of the famous presidential trivia game that normally takes place at James A. Garfield National Historic Site’s annual Presidents’ Day event.
Finally, see the site’s Facebook page (@GarfieldNPS) for a new presidential history post every two hours from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. that day.
“We’re excited to offer these online activities for Presidents’ Day 2021,” said Todd Arrington, Site Manager of James A. Garfield National Historic Site. “Since the COVID situation won’t allow us to host our usual Presidents’ Day event on site this year, we’re thankful to have the technology to still be able to interact with the public on one of our favorite holidays.”
