The Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775 was one of America’s most defining moments. Abigail Adams and her children hiked to the top of Penn's Hill from their home and witnessed the battle unfolding in Charlestown. Join Park Rangers for a special guided walk on June 15 and 16 to retrace the Adams’s journey and explore this story.

This guided walk is free and open to the public. The program begins at the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (141 Franklin Street) and proceeds to the Abigail Adams Cairn at the top of Penn's Hill. Rangers will lead the walk to the Abigail Adams Cairn and give a program at the cairn. Attendees can choose to join the ranger to walk back to the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill after the program. Public restrooms are not available at the Abigail Adams Cairn or the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill. The walk to Penn’s Hill is half a mile with steep inclines, uneven sidewalks, and limited shade. Expect summer weather. Visitors should bring water and wear weather appropriate clothing and walking shoes. This event may be cancelled in the event of excessive heat or rain.
