Description

Celebrate the kickoff of National Park Week with the volunteers of George Rogers Clark National Historical Park. Volunteers will be demonstrating a variety of period crafts throughout the day. If you have been interested in volunteering at the park, but weren't sure how to get started, this event will offer the opportunity to meet with, and interact with, current park volunteers.

This event will also be open to prospective Junior Rangers who will be able to earn a special National Junior Ranger Day button by completing the park's Junior Ranger program!

In addition to living history events, tours of the restored Clark Memorial basement will be offered beginning at 1:00 PM, with the last tour available at 4:00 PM. The tours will be offered by the park's Youth Advisory Council and will show all of the recent restoration work in the basement as well as the recently added Fallout Shelter exhibit. Tours depart on the hour and half-hour from the top of the memorial basement steps. The first tour leaves at 1 PM, while the final tour is at 4 PM.
