Description
Chat with a ranger about the Olmsted design theories in one of Olmsted's greatest works- Boston's Emerald Necklace.
2022 marks the Bicentennial of Frederick Law Olmsted, landscape architect who designed the Emerald Necklace, including the Back Bay Fens and home of the Shattuck Visitor Center, and established America's first professional landscape architecture firm in Brookline, known as Fairsted.
Now Fredrick Law Olmsted National Historic Site, Fairsted stewards the history and interpretation of Olmsted's work locally and nationally. Each Sunday 10am -4pm through September 18, drop in to meet a visiting park ranger and learn more about why he considered his Boston park system his "most important work."
Olmsted Summer Sundays is an interpretive program by Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site hosted by the community non-profit the Emerald Necklace Conservancy as part of Olmsted Now: Greater Boston's Olmsted Bicentennial.
