From the South Entrance Station, continue following the road you are on for 5 miles, and it will lead you to the Visitor Center. Just before the parking areas, the road curves to the left. You can park your vehicle in one of four parking areas and find your way to the Visitor Center, in the center of the open plaza where restroom buildings, the park store, and the bicycle rental are also located. Description

6:30 pm - Grand Canyon Visitor Center Theater Evening Program - "Meet our Galaxy, the Milky Way", by Dr. Daniel Fleisch, followed at 7:00 pm by Stargazing and Telescope Viewing outdoors, behind the theater.  Learn the science, mythology, and history of the stars under one of the darkest night skies in the world. Dress Warm. Program ends at 8:30 pm. 

Current Grand Canyon National Park Astronomer in Residence, Dr. Daniel Fleisch is an award-winning Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics at Wittenberg University, where he specializes in electromagnetics and space physics. He is the author of the internationally best-selling book "A Student’s Guide to Maxwell’s Equations."
