Moby Dick 24 Hour Marathon
Sign up to read a chapter through the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park Association website.
The Moby Dick 24 Hour Marathon is a San Francisco tradition steeped in maritime history and theatrical innovation! Whether you’re a Melville scholar or you’ve never opened the book, the MD24 makes the colossal novel Moby Dick feel lively, accessible, and dare we say– FUN!
Combining volunteer readers, dance, music, painting, puppetry, culinary arts, drag, tarot, spectacle, queer theory, original composition, and fibre arts, this uniquely San Franciscan approach will examine Mevlille's work and celebrate some of the most complex characters in American literature.
