Description
Music Monday Presents Richard Scott Power Trio "Cha-Cha With You"
Richard “Piano” Scott began playing piano at age four, and took up the trombone while still in elementary school. During his High School years, he began playing with a local New Orleans Traditional Music Group named the "St. Clair Street Band,” and played in local parades with his own group, called the "Queen City Jazz Band.”
He studied trombone at James Madison University and after graduating, performed on accordion at Busch Gardens theme park and as a pianist aboard Carnival Cruise ships. Eventually, he boarded a train to New Orleans and made the French Quarter his home in 2000. In addition to working with the DUKES and on Bourbon Street, Richard has worked as a park ranger at the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park, where he helped with children's programs and in groups that teach young musicians how to play New Orleans Jazz.

This particular song is an original composition written by Richard a few months ago that captures the flavor and spirit of Mardi Gras so eloquently. With a trio that contains the musicality of Gerald French (on drums) and Ted Long (on bass) we know that you will enjoy the song!
