Leatherworking Living History Program
Leatherworking Living History Program:
River Raisin National Battlefield Park will be offering a living history program on period leatherworking. See how local artisans and craftsmen created the equipment used to forge the history of Michigan as leatherworker Joseph Dowd cuts, dyes, and stitches belts and cartridge boxes for the local militia in 1812.
This is a free family event with hands-on activities for children and adults alike. This program will be held outside of River Raisin National Battlefield Park’s Education at 333 North Dixie Highway Monroe, MI 48162
