Confidence Hills: Martian Minerals and Environments in Death Valley

Death Valley National Park

Special Event
  • Feb 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM
  • Free
Some places on Earth are extreme enough to be very similar to other planets. Death Valley is a lot like Mars. That's why NASA scientists and engineers come to the park to prepare for missions to the Red Planet, including the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover mission. Come learn more about Death Valley's martian environments and how research here on Earth can help us better understand what other planets are made of, from NASA scientists on the Curiosity rover science team.

Presented by Scott Wieman and James Lewis / Planetary Scientists / NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and SAM (Sample Analysis at Mars) Instrument Suite Team
