Astronomy Night

Cape Lookout National Seashore

Special Event
  • Jul 16, 2021 at 8:00 PM
  • Free

Join the Cape Lookout National Seashore staff and members of the Crystal Coast Stargazers for a night devoted to the beautiful dark skies of eastern Carteret County in North Carolina.

At 8:00 NASA Solar System Ambassador, Lisa Pelletier Harman, will present a program on Celestial Navigation in the theater of the Harkers Island Visitor Center.  This indoor program is presented rain or shine.

After the theater program, everyone is invited to stargaze through the telescopes of the Crystal Coast Stargazers out on the Visitor Center lawn.  This part of the program is weather dependent -- clouds and/or rain can prevent us from seeing the stars.

This event is kid-friendly, but we kindly request no pets.  Please monitor the weather and/or call 252-728-2250 to confirm event status
