Registration begins at 6:30 pm, hikers should be off the trail by 9:30 pm.
Description
On Friday, June 2nd join REACH San Benito Park Foundation and BenitoLinks for an evening moonlight hike/walk on the Anza Trail. Astronomers David Baumgartner & Ron Ober will be there to share their telescopes for a special family adventure you'll talk about for a long time. Meet at the Juan Bautista de Anza Trailhead in San Juan Bautista - registration begins at 6:30 pm.
Parking is limited - please carpool.
Families are welcome! Dogs are OK, must be leashed.
Bring water, dress in layers, wear good walking/hiking shoes, bring flashlight WITH RED FILTER to preserve nightvision for night sky viewing.
The hike is moderately strenuous with uphill sections. 1 - 2.5 miles (2 - 5 miles roundtrip).
