A Florida archaeologist wound up in Washington State... not the start of a joke but a free public talk! Join National Park Service Archaeologist Thadra Stanton, temporarily assigned to Fort Vancouver, for an overview of her work in the southeastern United States and insights on regional differences in cultural resources and preservation work. Thadra works with the Archaeological and Historic Preservation Partnerships Branch with the Southeast Archeological Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida, and has worked on several interesting projects including several coastal shell ring and SE Mound complexes.
Just don’t ask her about the weather!
There will be two sessions on April 13, at 1 pm and 2:30 pm, at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site Visitor Center. Registration is recommended, as seating is limited. To register, or for more information, please go to www.friendsfortvancouver.org.
