Description
Join one of Fire Island’s volunteer naturalists for this 4-mile round-trip hike along the ocean beach to Old Inlet. Once the site of the breach created in 2012 by Superstorm Sandy, this area is now a showcase of beach dynamics and dune formation. Learn about the forces of waves and wind that create these features and see how the site has changed. Dress for the weather and for walking on sand. Bring drinking water and a snack.
