Description

Join Active SWV Community Captains for a moderate hike on the Timber Ridge Trail. Please bring water, snacks, good shoes, warm clothing, and rain gear.

Directions:  From US 19, follow WV16 south through the town of Fayetteville. Turn left on Gatewood Road (sign indicates Kaymoor and Cunard). Follow Gatewood Road for 1.9 miles, and turn left on Newton Road. The trailhead parking area is 50 yards on the left.

Get Active in the Park activities are perfect for grand-families, groups with multiple interests, and individuals. All are welcome!  Youth are encouraged to attend but must be accompanied by a guardian and the adult must stay on site during the activity.

Get Active in the Park is an innovative partnership between the National Park Service and Active Southern West Virginia. Trained Community Captains deliver free, beginner-level instructional programs to the New River Gorge region. Get Active in the Park empowers our community to see outdoor spaces as a place for health and wellness to take place.
