Description
Honoring all those veterans and families who've sacrificed their all for the USA. Join us for artillery programs at 11 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm on Saturday, May 27. Programs will be held at the main park entrance: 120 Fort Donelson Park Road, Dover, TN 37058.
The river forts on the Cumberland and the Tennessee served as important safeguards for protecting Union supply lines as the Civil War persisted until 1865. Soldiers wrote about their experiences - the excitement and boredom--of life in a Union garrison. Units such as the 71st Ohio Infantry and 83rd Illinois Infantry were stationed here for many months.
National Park Service Volunteers make our programs a success, and this holiday weekend will be featuring both Parker's Crossroads Battlefield Volunteers and Fort Donelson NB Volunteers. Please join us for these Saturday artillery programs.
