The Grand Canyon Historical Society will hold the 5th Grand Canyon History Symposium at Grand Canyon National Park, on February 20-23, 2019.

Background

Since January 2002, there have been five history symposia, bringing together historians, witnesses to history, park employees, and others with a passion for Grand Canyon history.

One Hundred Years of Grand Canyon National Park

Upon seeing one of our beautiful National Parks for the first time, many of us dreamed of finding a way to live and work in these places of boundless vistas - places with the delicate natural sounds of insects, birds, flowing water, and occasional silence - places that are steeped in human and natural history. Those dreams have become a reality for people working for Grand Canyon National Park whose 100th anniversary will be marked in 2019. To celebrate that milestone, the Grand Canyon Historical Society will sponsor a history symposium February 20-24.
