Description

Meet the Monster

Art in the Park on October 22, 2022 at the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center

The Sonoran Desert is home to the Gila Monster, one of the few venomous lizards in the world. Many myths surround the Gila Monster, but Saguaro National Park has been studying this unique reptile to separate fact from fiction.

The event will feature:

• An introduction from park staff sharing what we have learned so far from the Gila Monster Project.

• Tips on how you can help us solve the mysteries of this “monster.”

• A chance to create your own artistic rendition of a Gila Monster, aka: Heloderma suspectum!

Programs will be offered throughout the day at the visitor center:

• 8 am

• 9 am

• 10 am

• 11 am

• 12 pm (noon)
