Description

Petroglyph welcomes Knapping New Mexico, a group dedicated to the preservation and practice of ancient stone tool making. Using traditional materials, such as obsidian (volcanic glass), chert, and antler, these Knappers have mastered the ancient technique of making stone tools just as the ancient American Indians did hundreds and thousands of years ago.

Come by and observe this ancient skill in transforming rock into projectile points with careful and deliberate strikes.
