Please join the National Park Service in commemorating the landing of the first Africans in English-occupied North America in 1619.  At Prince William Forest Park, guest speakers and park staff will speak to the history and influence of African Americans in the local community.

At 3:00 pm, the park will participate in a national bell ringing to commemorate four centuries of African American history and culture.   This nationwide moment of remembrance and reflection will be observed at national parks across the country.
