Moa Pahe'e (Dart Sliding)

Delve into a captivating tradition for the Makahiki season: Moa Pahe'e, the art of precision. This traditional Hawaiian game, played during times of peace, revolves around precise throwing. It is a test of precision and strategy. Participants slide a wooden club between two stakes, requiring a keen eye and steady hand. This game is a link to Hawaiian history and culture. 

Part of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park’s ongoing ‘Ike Hana Noʻeau (Experience the Skillful Work) Hawaiian cultural programs, and co-sponsored by Hawai‘i Pacific Parks Association and the Friends of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Free, but park entrance fees apply.
