Description
Do you like the idea of nature, but are too intimidated to hit the trail on your own? Are you just beginning your trekking journey, because you haven't started your New Year's resolution to exercise yet? Is there a dangerous, evil ring you've been given, and you need to train up to carry it to a distant volcano? You're in luck! Come join a park ranger to learn about Hiking 101, basic trail safety, and how to prepare so you can get the most out of your adventures begining at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center in Asheville, NC. If you're looking for a place to start your quest (without the pressure of knowing everything before you begin), then this hike is for you. The trail is a 1.5 mile loop; it is an earthen, forested trail with roots, rocks, and some elevation changes. Please wear closed-toed shoes (sneakers are fine if you don't have hiking boots), bring a water bottle, and be prepared for changing weather conditions.
