A park ranger leads a woodland walk along Civil War trenches preserved by the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation and Belle Grove Plantation. A Confederate surprise attack overran the US 19th Corps in the early morning of October 19, 1864. 

Park at the Belle Grove Welcome Center and meet across the street at the entrance to the 19th Corps Trails. The walk is about three miles round trip to the 128th New York Monument and back to Belle Grove. The trail has some moderate slopes.
