Description
Big Thicket National Preserve needs help clearing brush out of pine savannahs so that longleaf pines can grow!
Volunteers will be clearing small trees and brush. Hand saws, pruning loppers, handheld power tools, gloves, and other personal protective equipment will be provided.
Work to be performed includes:
- Clearing brush and small thicketed areas
- Use of handheld power tools
- Use of manual saws and loppers
- Pickup and removal of trash
- Hiking to work area
Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Long sleeves, pants, and refillable water bottles are strongly recommended. On-site training and park ranger supervision will be provided.
