The Oneida Indian Nation, Fort Stanwix National Monument and Rome Historical Society have partnered to present the First Allies Craft Fair, happening Saturday, August 1 from 10 am to 5 pm at Fort Stanwix National Monument in Rome, NY. The 2026 Fort Stanwix First Allies Craft Fair celebrates the historical 250 year partnership between the United States and the Oneida Indian Nation - known as America's First Allies.
Featuring indigenous vendors specializing in a wide range of traditional and contemporary indigenous arts. Guests will find handcrafted beadwork, basketry, wampum work, leatherwork, cornhusk artistry, textiles, paintings, and other handcrafted works. Vendors will be traveling from Oneida, Seneca, Onondaga, and Mohawk Nations and Canada.
- Indian tacos, fry bread and homemade desserts available from Iroquois Eatery.
- Haudenosaunee social dance exhibitions featuring Chris Thomas and his Ongwe’hoñ:wehkah Dancers at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- DIY Craft Booth where participants can make a Haudenosaunee inspired craft during the craft fair while supplies last.
