The Death Valley '49ers Annual Encampment

Welcome to the 70th ANNIVERSARY Annual Death Valley ‘49ers Encampment being held at Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park.
 
This year's encampment is full of exciting musical, Western heritage, and family friendly events and activities including:
 
  • 70th Anniversary special apprearance of the famous 20 Mule Team! (November 8 &  9)
  • Western-style Music (Award winning artists Richard Elloyan & Steve Wade, Old West Trio, and Messick Family Singers)
  • Coyote Howl – at ‘49er tradition open to all Encampment participants to present their talents
  • Wed. Nov. 6th Historical Reenactment- Steve Hale returns this year as Gold Miner and Mailman of the Sierra John "Snowshoe" Thompson
  • Interpretive, Historical & Film Programs by historians and NPS Rangers
  • Wagon Train arrival
  • Western Artists’ Exhibition and Original Artwork for Purchase
  • Updates on developments at the Oasis at Death Valley (Xanterra) and Death Valley National Park (NPS)
