Description

Imagine the national outrage if, today, every single window in every residence, business, and skyscraper in Manhattan, New York, was simultaneously blown out. Imagine the iconic welcoming Statue of Liberty pierced by shrapnel. The nation and the world would shudder at the thought. But this is what happened on July 30, 1916.

How would the principled President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, keep the United States neutral and avoid involvement in the World War destroying Europe?  What would be the price of peace?  Join Park Ranger Bob Healy at the World War I Memorial to learn more.
